Privacy policy

Saba Studios (Munyuthe Design Ltd) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we handle it — for orders placed through this website, WhatsApp, email, or in person.

1. Information we collect. Contact details: your name, phone number (including WhatsApp), email address, and billing/delivery address. Order details: items ordered, price, deposit and payment records, and any design specifications or preferences you share with us. Payment information: we don't store your card details ourselves — online card payments are processed securely by Shopify's payment system, and M-Pesa or bank transfer payments are handled by Safaricom M-Pesa and our bank; we only keep the transaction reference needed for your invoice. Photos and videos: we take photos or videos of your piece during production and before delivery, mainly for quality inspection and to share proof with you. Website/device information: basic technical information (such as browser type and IP address) collected automatically by Shopify's built-in analytics when you visit our site, to understand traffic and improve the site — we do not run advertising trackers (such as Meta or Google ad pixels) and do not currently send marketing emails or texts.
2. How we use your information. We use it to fulfil and deliver your order, process payment, issue your Etims tax receipt, communicate with you about your order by WhatsApp or email, handle a Tax Compliance Certificate request if you ask for one, resolve a warranty or defect claim, and improve our website and service.
3. Photos and marketing use. We may want to feature a photo or video of your finished piece on our website, Instagram, or other marketing. We will always ask your permission for that specific piece first — we don't publish images of your order without asking.
4. Who we share your information with. Shopify (our e-commerce platform, for hosting and payment processing on online orders); payment providers (Safaricom M-Pesa, our bank, and Shopify Payments), to process what you pay us; delivery couriers, to deliver your order — we share your name, delivery address, and phone number with them for this purpose only; and the Kenya Revenue Authority, as required for KRA-compliant Etims tax receipts. We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not share it with marketing partners.
5. How long we keep your information. We keep your order and payment records for as long as necessary to fulfil your order, resolve any warranty or defect claim, and meet our legal and tax record-keeping obligations.
6. Your rights. Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it (subject to our legal retention obligations, such as tax records), and object to how we use it. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), Kenya.
7. Security. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to this policy. We may update this policy from time to time; the current version will always be posted on this page.
