Shipping policy
Every piece Saba Studios ships is made to order, by hand, in Nairobi — so shipping is arranged individually for each order rather than calculated automatically at checkout. Here's how it works.
Delivery within Kenya. We arrange delivery for you, including where we use a third-party courier. Delivery cost is not automatically included in your item price — we'll confirm it (or whether it's included for your order) before you pay a deposit, so there's no surprise later. We remain responsible for your piece until it's delivered and a delivery note is signed at the delivery address, regardless of our courier's own insurance arrangements — see our Terms of Service for the full detail.
International shipping. We ship internationally on a case-by-case basis. Because freight method, crating, and cost vary a great deal by destination, size, and weight, we don't quote a flat international rate — we'll put together a shipping quote specific to your order once we know your destination and the piece involved. This may include export documentation, crating built to the standard required for international transport, and a freight forwarder or courier suited to the route.
Customs duties and import taxes. For international orders, the shipping quote we give you covers freight and any crating/export costs, but does not include customs duties, import VAT, or clearance fees charged by your destination country — these are the client's responsibility and are paid on arrival (or to the carrier handling clearance). We recommend checking your country's import rules for furniture before ordering if this is a concern.
Timelines. A delivery date depends on production completing first, then packing or crating, then transit — for international orders, transit and customs clearance can add meaningful time on top of production. We'll give you our best estimate at each stage, but we don't treat a production or delivery date as guaranteed; if something shifts, we'll tell you as soon as we know and give you an updated date. See our Terms of Service for how design changes or delays are handled.
Damage in transit. If your order is damaged in transit under shipping we've arranged, please inspect the piece and note any damage before signing for it wherever possible, or contact us immediately if you notice it after unpacking. See our Terms of Service and Return & Refund Policy for how this is resolved.
Questions before you order. If you need a firm shipping cost or delivery estimate before purchasing — especially for an international order — contact us at sales@sabastudios.com or +254 713 009 718 and we'll quote your specific order.
